An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Technical Officer based in the councils multi award winning Home Improvement Agency. You will have experience of surveying residential properties and supervising building works. You should hold a minimum of a Higher National Qualification in a building related subject, or equivalent relevant experience.

The post holder will have the ability to work with minimal supervision and be capable of prioritising workloads. You will have direct contact with colleagues in other services, key partner organisations and members of the public. You will have excellent numeracy, keyboard and communication skills and will be committed to high standards of customer service.

This post is permanent. The hours of work for this position are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday 9.00 until 5.00 pm. You will be based at Lancaster Town Hall and at other council sites within the District, with hybrid working available dependant on service requirements.

A full current UK driving licence is essential, as the post holder will be required to carry out home visits throughout the district. As a result you will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees driving licence data.

The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
