Full Job Description
We are recruiting HGV Class 1 Drivers for ongoing day work with XPO Logistics based in Barrow upon Soar (LE12 8BG). This is an excellent opportunity for experienced C+E Drivers seeking secure Monday to Friday work with pre-booked shifts, guaranteed hours, modern vehicles and genuine long-term career progression opportunities. Role Overview As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for general haulage deliveries to builders' merchants and customer sites. The role involves transporting building materials, including plasterboard and other heavy products, using a modern fleet equipped with full telematics. Working with XPO Logistics, you'll benefit from structured onboarding, ongoing support and opportunities to develop your career. Shift Patterns
- Monday to Friday only
- Start times between 04:00 and 06:00
- Pre-booked, ongoing shifts
- Day work only
- No weekend working
- Guaranteed hours available, Complete general haulage deliveries to builders' merchants and customer sites
- Transport plasterboard and other building materials safely and efficiently
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and defect reporting
- Follow planned routes and delivery schedules
- Complete all transport documentation accurately
- Comply with Driver Hours and Working Time Regulations
- Maintain high standards of customer service and professionalism
Valid UK Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence - Valid Driver CPC Card
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum 12 months' Class 1 driving experience
- Experience operating within day-shift transport operations

£16.59 per hour - Rate increase after 13 weeks
