This is an exciting opportunity to join the Thames Valley Operational Delivery Network (ODN) Hepatology Nursing Team, supporting high-quality care for patients living with viral hepatitis and a wide range of liver conditions across both community and secondary care settings. Based primarily in Buckinghamshire, the postholder will work closely with the wider ODN team to deliver specialist nursing input, contribute to service development, and participate in local, regional, and national initiatives aimed at improving liver health outcomes. The Thames Valley ODN for Hepatitis C is committed to achieving the elimination of Hepatitis C as a public health threat ahead of the WHO 2030 target. The successful candidate will play a key role in reaching underserved populations, enhancing access to testing and treatment, and supporting the ongoing transformation of this dynamic service. We are seeking a Registered Nurse (Adult) who is motivated, flexible, and eager to develop advanced clinical skills within an evolving specialty. You must be able to work autonomously, demonstrate strong initiative, and adapt confidently when managing a diverse range of clinical scenarios and challenges. Flexible working requests will be considered., As a Band 6 Hepatology Nurse, you will work autonomously across community and secondary care settings to support the assessment, treatment and ongoing management of patients with Hepatitis C and wider liver disease.   • Deliver safe, person-centred care within your professional scope of practice.
  • Carry out holistic assessments, history-taking, physical assessments and risk identification.
  • Communicate complex and sensitive information with compassion to patients and families.
  • Support testing, treatment coordination and liver health initiatives in clinics, outreach settings and partner services.
  • Develop specialist decision-making skills and escalate appropriately to senior staff.

  • Contribute to effective multidisciplinary working and help promote a positive team culture.
  • Support service improvement, clinical governance activities and incident review where required.
  • Participate in supervision and assist with supporting junior colleagues.

  • Research & Quality Improvement
  • Support audit, evaluation and improvement activity within the hepatology service.
