Full Job Description

We are seeking a Switchboard & Helpdesk Operator to join our team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.

This role combines Switchboard and Helpdesk responsibilities, providing essential operational and emergency support across the Trust.

You will be responsible for handling internal and external calls, managing emergency communications, logging and prioritising Estates and Facilities tasks, monitoring CAFM systems, and coordinating with Trust, ISS, and external service providers to support the effective delivery of services.

The Role

Answering and directing internal and external calls across Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.

Managing emergency crash calls and issuing emergency bleeps when required.

Maintaining and administering Multitone bleeps, on-call rotas, and Rotawatch systems.

Supporting the Trust's Major Incident procedures, including issuing emergency alerts and communications.

Logging and prioritising Estates and Facilities tasks through the CAFM system.

Monitoring CAFM systems to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are achieved.

Responding to alarms, emergency calls, and operational enquiries, escalating issues as required.

Liaising with Trust departments, ISS teams, and external service providers to coordinate and prioritise work.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Professional and confident telephone manner.

Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Experience using switchboard and/or CAFM systems.

Ability to prioritise workloads and allocate tasks effectively.

Good IT skills and attention to detail.

Ability to remain calm and professional when handling emergency situations.
