Our Healthcare Training Contract offers aspiring solicitors the opportunity to develop specialist expertise while working on complex, high-profile matters for a diverse range of healthcare clients. From day one, you'll gain hands-on experience, meaningful responsibility, and direct client exposure, helping you build the skills and confidence needed to qualify as a successful healthcare lawyer. Throughout your training, you'll be supported by experienced supervisors, senior associates, partners, and a dedicated Early Careers team, all committed to helping you achieve your full potential. About the Team Kennedys' Healthcare team is recognised as one of the leading defendant healthcare practices in the UK, advising NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts, private healthcare providers, insurers, and medical practitioners on a broad range of matters. Our work includes:
- Clinical negligence claims
- Employers' and public liability claims
- Healthcare regulatory matters
- Medical insurance coverage disputes
- Inquests and judicial reviews
- Health law and governance advice Working as part of this team, you'll gain exposure to challenging and intellectually stimulating cases while developing a deep understanding of the healthcare sector and the legal issues affecting healthcare providers. - NHS Resolution and NHS Trusts
- Independent hospital groups
- Medical malpractice insurers
- Private clinics and healthcare organisations
- Medical and healthcare practitioners Training and Qualifications Prior to starting your Training Contract, successful candidates will be required to complete the LLM SQE1 & SQE2 and pass the SQE assessments. Candidates from a non-law background will also be required to complete a law conversion course (GDL/PGDL) before commencing the LLM SQE programme. We also welcome applications from candidates who have already completed the LPC.
- A qualifying law degree; or
- A non-law degree and successful completion of the GDL/PGDL.
