Full Job Description

Our department encompasses an 8 bedded Coronary Care Unit which is the PPCI Centre for Norfolk, 37 bedded acute Cardiology Ward, Cardiac Elective Area and Angiography suite. Our center provides some of the latest Cardiology interventions in our 5 Cath Labs and is involved in National and International Research projects. This healthcare support worker position will be based on Kilverstone Ward. Kilverstone ward is an acute cardiology ward for the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital where, as an HCSW your role would involve nursing care for patients with acute cardiac conditions, you would work closely and alongside the team which comprises of other HCSW's, Registered nurses as well as members of the multi-disciplinary team (Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapists) for example., Your role as a HCSW will be to provide and deliver a high standard of individualised personal care to each patient working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary approach. This includes assisting with personal care, nutrition, wound care, mobility, and infection control, as well as monitoring and recording vital signs, supporting patients with toileting and hygiene needs, and maintaining accurate documentation. In completion of the nationally recognised care certificate qualification, you will develop knowledge and skills that will allow you to be able to safely and accurately deliver effective patient care under the direction of the registered nurse. With ongoing training, you will learn to accurately document the care you provide and recognise when a patient's condition changes, escalating concerns appropriately while maintaining patient confidentiality. Your skills and competencies will be developed through a structured 52-week development pathway designed to support you in fulfilling your role. Please note that this advertised position, under occupation code 6131 does meet UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa. The Trust would be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role

  • You must work a minimum 36 hours per week, have significant nursing/healthcare assistant experience, and must be placed at top of the agenda for change Band 3 pay point to meet current Home Office UKVI policy regarding salary threshold requirements.
