Healthcare Support Worker - Clinical Care

We are seeking an enthusiastic Health Care Support Worker to join our busy gynaecology ward, providing high-quality care to women undergoing a range of surgical and medical treatments. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a friendly multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering safe, respectful, and patient-centred care. Cley GynaecologyCley Gynaecology is 16-bedded gynaecology surgical ward with a gynaecology emergency pathway. We provide careand treatment for a wide range of patients with gynaecological conditions, including urogynaecology and oncology. We care for patients pre and post operatively. We also care for those experiencing early pregnancy complications includinghyperemesis miscarriage and terminations. Main duties of the job,

• Assisting patients with personal care and daily living activities
• Supporting registered nurses with clinical duties and patient observations
• Maintaining patient comfort, dignity, and privacy at all times
• Preparing equipment and ensuring a clean, safe ward environment
• Providing emotional support to patients and relatives
• Accurately documenting care and reporting concerns appropriately, To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service,all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUHs PRIDE values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence and demonstrate behaviours that support and encourage an inclusive culture.
• Demonstrates awareness of own professional responsibilities and upholds the PRIDE values consistently.
• Practices in accordance with the code of conduct for healthcare support workers clearly articulates the purpose of the code.
• To demonstrate effective, clear and accurate communication with patients and their families, to ensure they are kept up to date with the plans for care.
• The ability to share information in the relevant context.
• To act as a positive role model at all times.
• To manage the care of a group of patients, demonstrating good planning and organisational skills. Throughout patient treatment and care journey, including admission and discharge.
• To understand duty of candour and speak with senior colleagues to discuss further if required.

• City and Guilds NVQ Level 3/ T levels/ A levels in Care/Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification or significant equivalent experience
• Completion of care certificate within 12 weeks of start date
Experience Essential
• Some previous experience in a nursing/Care Assistant role which can be demonstrated against the requirements of the role.
