We're looking for Healthcare Support Workers to join our friendly teams across Gloucestershire Hospitals. You don't need previous healthcare experience, just compassion, reliability and a genuine desire to help others. We'll provide full training and support you every step of the way. As a Healthcare Support Worker, you'll help care for patients on our wards and in our departments, supporting them with daily activities, helping nurses and doctors and ensuring every patient feels safe, respected and cared for. As a Trust, we're committed to your continuous growth, providing training in a wide range of clinical skills and knowledge. We're looking for dedicated HCSW's for various roles across multiple inpatient wards at both Cheltenham General and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital., While it is desirable that candidates have an appropriate recent care experience and have completed the Care Certificate, previous care experience is not essential, and training can absolutely be provided for the right candidates, so if you have the qualities we're looking for and share our values, please get in touch. Your role will include a wide range of tasks, from providing personal care to undertaking clinical observations. You will be required to follow rigorous policies such as infection control and manual handling policies. In addition, you will be providing emotional and practical support to patient and their families.

  • Level 2 Functional skills in English and Math's, or equivalent, GCSEs or equivalent, Qualifications at level 2 or 3 in Health and/or Social Care that is nationally recognized (this could be an NVQ, BTEC, apprenticeship or equivalent international qualification in healthcare) OR Able to demonstrate the equivalent level of experience
  • Completion of a Care Certificate, Be able to work as a member of a team
  • Experience of time management and prioritising work
  • Understands and committed to a caring approach to patients & relatives
  • Effective and appropriate communication skills both written and verbal
  • IT skills, basic word, Email, keyboard skills
