Full Job Description
You will give high standards of care to patients at a time when they are in need, while working with a welcoming and innovative team that encourages you. This rewarding post will enable you to make a difference to patients, and their families.
Therefore, previous care experience in care of the older adult would be preferable. You should be able to demonstrate a commitment and passionate in providing high quality patient care., We have a fantastic multi-disciplinary ward team approach to patient care and always strive to ensure the patient has the best experience possible whilst with us, and are looking for a caring and compassionate person who is able to work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a high standard of individualized nursing care to our patients. You will need excellent communication skills, and be able to work independently, prioritizing your workload to ensure the best outcomes for patients. You will ensure that your own actions support the care, protection and well-being of individuals, and ensure their privacy and dignity at all times. You will need to be flexible as this is a rotational post which includes days, nights and weekend working.,
- We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, who can communicate at all levels to a variety of people in a professional, friendly manner
- Have a passion for elderly care and working to achieve a positive outcome for those patients
- You will need to have some IC training and understand systems that are in place within the NHS
- We are looking for a team player who is able to support others, NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification/experience, Care certificate
- English & Mathematics at GSCE grade A-C (9-4) or level 2 functional skills, Previous experience in a care environment or able to demonstrate a caring nature/ life experience
- Understands the need for strict confidentiality, Working knowledge of complex care needs of some individuals/families including Safeguarding Children & Adults, Domestic Abuse and Mental Health, Basic computer/keyboard skills
- Fine motor skills - for venepuncture, phlebotomy and other clinical tasks
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to prioritise and organise work
- Able to work under instruction, under pressure and as part of a team
- Record keeping competency in handwritten and electronic records
- Able to demonstrate empathy, sensitivity, and to adapt communication style to circumstances
- Able to manage stress in themselves and others
- Able to offer support at times of emotional distress
- Willingness to undertake new skills and training
- Able to work as a team member or independently
- Ability to adapt behaviour to changing and challenging situations
- To be flexible, adaptable, reliable and punctual
- The post holder must demonstrate a positive commitment to uphold diversity and equality policies approved by the Trust
