We're looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Scientist with experience of working with MRI and ultrasound to join our Radiation Protection & Diagnostic Radiology team in Lincoln., o Act as a clinical scientist specialist for MRI providing expert advice on safety, equipment QA and imaging protocolso Provide specialist scientific support to users of MRI for equipment purchase, acceptance testing, commissioning and lifetime performance testing.o Manage the work of clinical scientists and technologists involved in this worko Undertake research and development in all scientific aspects of the work of the departmento Participate in the training of clinical scientists, technologists, other healthcare professionals and studentso Act as a medical physics specialist for other areas of non-ionising radiation as determined by the head of serviceo Participate in the provision of scientific support to non-ionising radiation services (UV, lasers, ultrasound, etc.)., For full details of the job description and main responsibilities please see the pdf files attached to this advert.

  • MSc in Medical Physics or equivalent plus further specialist training
  • HCPC registration as a clinical scientist, Fellow of the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine
  • LPA certification
  • MRSE certification, Evidence of experience at post registration level as a Clinical Scientist in radiation protection and radiological physics, Experience of UV, ultrasound, lasers
  • Experience in the provision of a medical physics service
  • Experience in business planning
  • Experience of budget management
  • Knowledge, skills, aptitudes,
  • Extensive specialist knowledge of MRI physics
  • Ability to communicate scientific concepts to other staff
  • Ability to work with staff in different disciplines
  • Good organisational skills, Range of IT skills including image analysis and DICOM tools
  • Good communication and presentation skills, Knowledge of radiation protection legislation in healthcare and biomedical research
  • Ability to use own initiative
