Full Job Description
To assist the Clinical Physiologists to provide an effective and efficient Cardiorespiratory diagnostic service by performing basic cardiac and respiratory investigations.
The post holder will work as part of a team to provide an inpatient and outpatient ECG and Spirometry service for all wards / units and peripheral hospitals within the Health Board.
Carry out a range of basic diagnostic tests using standard operating procedures /national standards with supervision always available.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic part time Healthcare Science assistant (band 2) wishing to develop their skills within our rapidly developing Cardiac Physiology department.
The department offers a broad range of invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests, including ECG's, a wide range of ambulatory monitoring, physiologist-led/medically supervised ETT, Echocardiography, cardiac device implantation and follow-up (pacemakers, resynchronisation and high voltage devices) as well as diagnostic cardiac catheterisation.
We are looking to appoint a Healthcare Science assistants to support the qualified Cardiac Physiologist's. The successful candidate will need to work as part of our team and possess the initiative and drive to complement the responsibility of this role.
Whilst the base is Prince Charles Hospital the ability to be able to travel between UHB sites is essential to support service delivery., Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential;whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listingand selectingcandidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
