Full Job Description
We are looking for compassionate and reliable Healthcare Assistants to support a gentleman in his late 60s within his own home. Following a high-level spinal injury, he requires full support with his care and is supported on a 2:1 basis overnight. He is a sociable and engaging individual who enjoys good conversation, listening to musicparticularly Snow Patroland spending quality time with his family and friends. He also enjoys dining out and relaxed evenings at home. Despite the challenges he faces, he remains positive and values carers who treat him with dignity, respect, and kindness. His family are an important part of his life, and you will be working within a warm and supportive home environment. During night shifts, you will support his clinical and personal care needs, ensuring he remains comfortable, safe, and well-supported throughout the night. This is a rewarding opportunity to build a meaningful connection while delivering high-quality, person-centred care. Key Responsibilities
- Personal care delivered with dignity and respect
- Support with moving and handling (2:1 care)
- Medication administration
- Bowel and catheter care
- Respiratory support including nebuliser, cough assist, and NIV
- Overnight monitoring to ensure comfort, safety, and wellbeing, The role of a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) is to work without direct supervision in the home of the service user providing care and support including personal, social, and domestic support whilst adhering to the service users individual care and support plan. The aim of the position is to enable service users to remain safely in their own home with as much independence as possible. Alongside providing care and support in a professional, discreet, and caring manner, always ensuring the service users right to privacy and dignity is maintained
- Minimum 3 months hands-on care experience
- Confident with personal care and moving & handling
- Caring, patient, and reliable approach
- Ability to build positive, respectful relationships
- Female carers (as requested by the client)
- Drivers with a full Manual UK licence (non-drivers may be considered for night shifts), 3 months previous care experience
