Successful applicants will be invited to attend an Selection day at Carew House, Bodmin on 22nd May 2026. This will be a morning or afternoon to be confirmed. Longreach House is the mental health hospital for the west of Cornwall and is home to two acute psychiatric wards providing assessment and treatment for adults experiencing mental health crisis. Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are pleased to offer exciting opportunities for experienced Healthcare Assistants and for those looking to start their career in healthcare as a Care Support Assistant, with clear development into a Healthcare Assistant role. We are committed to supporting and developing our staff and can offer roles at Band 2 or Band 3, depending on experience, with training, supervision and learning opportunities to help you progress. This role is available on Carbis and Perran ward. Shift patterns will include day, night and twilight hours.,
- Supporting patients with personal care and daily activities
- Promoting dignity, independence and well-being
- Supporting therapeutic and recovery-focused ward activities
- Observing and reporting changes in patients' mental and physical health
- Working closely with nurses, doctors and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Maintaining a safe, caring and supportive ward environment
