Are you looking for a career in Mental Health care?

We are looking to recruit band 3 Support Workers who are new to care or have some basic experience on Stevenson Ward at The Harbour. We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills to support you in caring for patients from a diverse background with challenging mental health conditions. The successful candidate must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment, have a positive outlook and ensure that delivering a quality care, which genuinely engages with patients is a key priority.

Due to the nature of the role we can only accept applications from those age 18+

It is essential that you are able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. The service provides support over a 24 hour period, 7 days per week, and 52 weeks a year. You will need to be able to work weekdays, weekends, evenings, nights and bank holidays where needed.

Duties

• Supporting with IPC and cleaning duties


• Supporting with meal service


• Escorting patients on periods of leave both on the grounds and into the wider community


• Supporting patients in times of crisis by way of excellent communication skills


• Utilising approved physical interventions such as PAS when required


• Being part of a large multi-disciplinary team on the ward


• Additional tasks delegated in line with patient care and staff safety
