Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this forward thinking, teaching practice located in Oundle. Lakeside Healthcare Oundle, serves the healthcare needs of over 12,000 patients. The purpose of the post is to assist the GPs and nurse team in the delivery of safe, high quality primary care services to the practice population. The post holder will undertake delegated tasks and duties under indirect supervision of members of the nurse team. The post holder will work within clear parameters and lines of accountability after appropriate training and assessment of competence. The requirements of the post are linked to the Health Education England: District and General Practice Nursing Service Education and Career Framework.,
- Venepuncture
- Blood pressure measurements
- New patient medicals
- NHS health checks
- Urinalysis
- ECG recording
- Processing and management of laboratory samples
- Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
- Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fitting
- Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to nurses or GPs as appropriate
- Chronic disease clinic including diabetes (including foot checks), asthma and COPD, health promotion
- Carrying out INR monitoring using INR star (training provided)
- To apply basic dressings under the supervision of the Practice Nurses
You would be one of an overall Nursing Team of 7, including 5 Practice Nurses and 1 HCA, and 1 Community ANP, all working together to provide same day, first class primary care.
