Healthcare Assistant

Hingham Surgeryis looking for an experienced healthcare assistant (HCA) to join the practice in this vital patient-facing role with both clinical and administrative responsibilities. The role is offered on apart-time basis for 18 hours per week, working Wednesday to Friday., Working alongside our existing HCAs and practice nurses, the healthcare assistant will be able to apply their clinical skills and knowledge to carry out high quality practice within designated clinical areas such as:

• Blood pressure checks.
• Vaccinations.
• ECG recording.
• Phlebotomy.
• Managing INRs.
• Chaperoning duties.
• Updating patient health records.
• Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses.
• Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment.
• Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording.
• Surgery equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation.
• Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms.
• Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions.
• Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being.
