Full Job Description

We are looking for either an experienced HCA or an aspiring HCA who is willing to undergo training to join our well-established nursing team. Working 30 to 35 hours per week. The successful applicant will work under the direct supervision of the Nurse Team Leads at each site, which comprise of the Manor Practice, Northbourne Medical Centre and Shoreham Health Centre.,

  • Support the practice nursing team with health promotion programmes
  • Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, and BMI recording findings accurately
  • Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly
  • Undertake simple wound care, dressings, stitch removal, and other clinical tasks as required
  • Undertake venepuncture
  • Carry out ECGs as requested
  • Carryout B12 injections
  • When trained, carry out ear irrigation under the supervision of the practice nurse
  • Support the practice nurse with the management of chronic disease clinics including annual diabetes reviews (including foot checks), learning disability reviews and mental health reviews
  • Carry out NHS Health Checks
  • Act as a chaperone as required
  • Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation
  • Provide support during minor operations and Gynaecological clinics as required
  • Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session
  • Ensure fridges are cleaned routinely in accordance with extant guidance
  • Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy
