Full Job Description
The post holder will work as a member of the multidisciplinary team. To provide support and knowledge to patients within the speciality. Acts as a role model, demonstrating effective organisational, clinical and leadership skills. To undertake anaesthetic, scrub and recovery duties, as required, to meet service delivery requirements.
Maintain patient confidentiality and record keeping. Demonstrate a knowledge of good I.T skills and record keeping. You will be flexible, adaptable and willing to maintain our pace and drive having strong communication skills that enable you to be a real team player, to provide the finest possible care and provide on-going support to our existing team of highly skilled professionals, all of whom are committed to making a positive difference to our patients., To be able to demonstrate the ability to work autonomously. Be competent to deliver expert, skilled care to highly dependent patients in a specialised area. Ensure effective communication at all levels and disciplines, information inclusive of that which is confidential and multi stranded within the theatre. Ensure all records and documentation are compiled and maintained accurately and in accordance with the H.P.C. / N.M.C. standards for record keeping and Caldicott report. Supports patients/families/staff effectively communicating sensitive, confidential information using a variety of communication skills such as empathy, negotiation, persuasion and reassurance.,
- Registered ODP, current HPC registration ( applicable to ODP) or Registered Nurse, current NMC registration ( applicable to RN)
- Qualification relevant to specialist area (ALS,Diploma/Degree in Specialised Theatre Practice,ENB 182/176,HEA605)or equivalent course
- Mentorship course or Teaching and Assessing course (ENB 998,C&G756,Mentorship in Practice,D32/D33), Demonstrable post registration experience in relevant theatre area ,of which at least one year should be at a supervisory level
- Responsibility for running clinical areas on a shift/daily basis
- No unaccountable career breaks
- Evidence of mentorship within specialist field and appraisals as appropriate
- Evidence of active participation in development of unit guidelines/initiatives Desirable criteria
- Management course /training
- Understanding of Trust Policy and Practice
- Policy and procedure writing skills
- Principles of budget management, Understanding and knowledge relating to political and professional issues

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Liverpool University Hospital Foundation Trust (LUHFT) for a HCPC/NMC registered ODP/RN with anaesthetic qualification to join the Theatre team at Band 6 We have over 20 operating theatres covering all major specialities, including: General surgery, Urology (including robotic surgery), Breast and Endocrine. Renal Transplant, Ophthalmic surgery, Upper G I, Colorectal, Hepatobiliary, Radiology and Emergency surgery. Also including off site Dental surgery and Clatter bridge cancer services. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who is looking to further their career and embrace a peri-operative role with a commitment to deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients within our busy theatres complex. The successful applicant will work within the theatres team in anaesthetics.
