Full Job Description

We are seeking experienced, compassionate Healthcare Assistants to support a teenage boy with complex care needs within a 2:1 care package in his family home. He is non-verbal and non-mobile, requiring full support with all aspects of daily care. Responsibilities may include seizure management, PEG feeding, suctioning, and personal care. Experience in respiratory care and severe epilepsy is essential, including confidence in administering rescue medication. He enjoys sensory-based activities, such as musical toys and messy play, and loves watching Disney films, especially The Lion King and Toy Story. When he is feeling well, he enjoys trips to the cinema and bowling. He is also a Wolves fan and enjoys being around animals. Day shifts may involve supporting him either at home or at school, while night shifts focus on close monitoring, managing clinical needs, and ensuring he remains safe and comfortable throughout the night. He lives with his family and two dogs, so applicants must be comfortable working in a pet-friendly environment. Strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to respond calmly to changing needs are essential. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting a young person to live a safe, happy, and fulfilling life at home. Please note: Due to the nature of our vacancies, our clients have the right to request either female or male staff. Our client has specifically requested female care staff to join their team. "This isn't just a job - it's your opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life."

  • At least 3 months' hands-on care experience, including respiratory care, oxygen support, and epilepsy management, with experience administering rescue medication
  • Confidence supporting children with complex care needs
  • Experience administering medication, providing personal care, and carrying out safe moving and handling
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Comfort working in a pet-friendly home (dogs on the property)

At Apollo Home Healthcare, we provide high-quality, person-centred care to people in the comfort of their own homes. Every individual we support has unique needs - we tailor every care package to them, building a compassionate and skilled team around their requirements.
  • We live and work by the 6 Cs: Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage, and Commitment - and we're looking for people who share those values.

  • Competitive hourly pay with enhancements for nights and weekends
