Position Details
- Position: Health and Social Care Lecturer
- Location: ON-SITE, Manchester, UK
- Working Hours: 9 am - 5 pm or 12 pm - 8 pm, depending on the timetable
- Salary: £28,000 - £43,500 (Depending on experience)
- Employment Type: Fixed-Term Contract - Full-Time / Part-Time (No HPL)
- Working Pattern: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Job Description
The successful candidate will primarily teach Health and Social Care, with the flexibility to support with light Business modules and/or research-based modules where required. This is a fixed-term contract position and is not an HPL (Hourly Paid Lecturer) role.
Job Purpose
The appointed individual will join the progressive team at Elizabeth School of London Limited and contribute to the delivery of various full-time programmes, including Foundation Year and full-degree courses. These programmes are developed in partnership with renowned institutions such as Canterbury Christ Church University, Bath Spa University, St Mary's University Twickenham London, and other Higher Education partners.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality teaching and learning across a range of programmes within a Higher Education setting, with a primary focus on Health and Social Care.
- Tutor students, offering tailored support to help them achieve their academic goals and progress positively.
- Support with the delivery of relevant Business and/or research-based modules where required.
- Contribute actively to the development and continual improvement of courses, collaborating effectively with both staff and students.
- Participate in the creation of module/unit-specific Scheme of Work.
- Develop module materials for each of the modules being undertaken.
- Provide/Deliver/Facilitate subject-specific sessions in line with the Learning Outcomes and syllabuses of modules.
- Deploy assessments appropriately as outlined by the assessment team.
- Establish measures to understand the learning needs of students on their modules.
- Support students with timely formative feedback as prescribed by each of the programme specifications.
- Mark and provide summative feedback within the prescribed deadline set by the Assessment Team.
- Ensure compliance with the expectations of the Programme Specification of respective Awarding Bodies and Universities under which modules are being taught.
- Produce appropriate module/unit reports.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Contribute to the School's Research Department where required.
Essential Requirements
- Master's degree and/or PhD in Health & Social Care or a closely related subject area.
- A recognised teaching qualification, such as PGCHE, MA in Higher Education Practice, FHEA, or equivalent.
- Previous Higher Education lecturing experience in Health & Social Care or a closely related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Social Care subject areas and the ability to teach at Foundation and undergraduate level.
- Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in using Blackboard/VLEs, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and other relevant digital learning platforms.
- Flexibility to support teaching in light Business and/or research-based modules where required.
- Full right to work in the UK.
Desirable Requirements
- Relevant professional or industry experience in Health & Social Care.
- Experience teaching Foundation Year and/or undergraduate programmes.
- Experience working within a Higher Education environment with university or awarding-body partnerships.
- Experience contributing to academic research or research-based modules.
- Fellowship of Advance HE or working towards Fellowship.
- Experience with curriculum development, assessment design and quality assurance.
