Introduction

Supporting unpaid carers across East Lancashire. Gaining knowledge, understanding and training in the voluntary sector & charity work across health and social care.

Learn key health and social care skills, including safeguarding, person-centred care, infection control, digital working, and career development.



About the Employer

Carers Link Lancashire is an independent registered charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee whose aim is to support unpaid carers across the boroughs of East Lancashire.

Carers Link Lancashire was founded in April 2014 from the previous organisation of Carers Link Hyndburn & Ribble Valley and the adult carers team from Carers Contact.

​The original Carers Link was founded in April 1997 as a community care project of the Blackburn, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Council for Voluntary Service. Carers Contact was a project founded in 2000 by the Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Council for Voluntary Service.



What You'll Do

  • To support in providing a meaningful first contact with unpaid carers through the answering and triaging of incoming enquires

     

  • To undertake training associated with the role including legislation relating to unpaid carers

     

  • To provide unpaid carers with information and support to reduce the impact of their caring role

     

  • To support in providing platforms for Peer Support & Respite Opportunities

     

  • To work towards undertaking Carers Assessments & Reviews in accordance with statutory guidelines

     

  • To support in providing information, training, support and guidance to unpaid carers

     

  • To support in raising awareness and support in identifying unpaid carers by attending events, outreach, drop-in sessions etc.

     

  • Provide support in facilitating peer support and respite opportunities through the delivery of support groups, carers cafes, targeted support and group activity sessions

     

  • Provide support in our community facilities in identifying and supporting carers and providing them with information 

     

  • To work with the communications officer, raising awareness using digital platforms and facilitating virtual platforms for support

     

  • Learn about and determine the carer’s eligibility under the Care Act 2014 using the National Eligibility Criteria

Working Arrangements

Working Week: Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm, with flexibility to allow some out of hours working at evenings and weekends (rare).

Expected Duration: 8 Months
