Location: HMP Fosse Way, Leicester, LE18 4TN Salary: £28,000 - £34,000 depending on experience Schedule: 40 hours per week, permanent

As a Health and Safety Tutor in our training team, you'll deliver engaging, accredited learning that equips people with the skills to stay safe, compliant, and confident in the workplace. Your work will create a positive impact by helping learners build knowledge that protects lives and supports safer communities.
In this role, you'll play a key part in shaping knowledge and behaviours across a wide range of essential safety topics. From first aid to fire safety, your expertise will help individuals and organisations meet standards, reduce risk, and build a culture of care and accountability.
What you'll do as a Health and Safety Tutor
You'll be entrusted to:
Deliver engaging, face-to-face training sessions across health and safety disciplines
Teach key topics including risk assessment, manual handling, and hazard awareness
Deliver specialist training in food safety, including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), cross-contamination, and allergen management
Train learners in fire safety, including evacuation procedures, fire drills, and use of extinguishers
Deliver first aid training, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED) use, and emergency response protocols
Assess learner competence through written assessments and end-of-course examinations
Maintain accurate training records, attendance logs, and certification documentation
Review and update training materials to reflect the latest legislation and best practice

You'll be a great fit for this role if you have…
Relevant and in-date certifications such as First Aid at Work instructor, NEBOSH or IOSH, and food safety qualifications
Practical experience within a health and safety, education, or commercial environment
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate learners
Confidence delivering training to diverse groups with varying levels of experience
