Health & Safety Officer

Are you passionate about creating safer workplaces and driving positive change? We're looking for an enthusiastic Health & Safety Officer to join our shared Safety and Resilience team, supporting services across Bassetlaw and Mansfield. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll provide expert advice, support managers to manage risk effectively, and help embed a strong, proactive health and safety culture across a diverse range of council services. What you'll do:

• Provide practical, risk-based health and safety advice across the organisation
• Support audits, inspections, and compliance monitoring
• Lead or assist with incident investigations and reporting
• Help develop policies, procedures, and training initiatives
• Work collaboratively with teams to drive continuous improvement
  
  NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) and experience in a H&S advisory role
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail, You'll play a key role in protecting our workforce and communities, working in a supportive environment that values collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
