Provide professional health and safety advice and support to the Telecoms Function, Telecoms Delivery projects and commercial teams, coordinate the relevant Telecoms Operations activities and to facilitate compliance with the Network Rail Health and Safety Management System and all relevant legal, industry and company standards. 1. Provide expert health, safety and environmental (HSE) advice, guidance and support to Telecoms project teams and functional stakeholders, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organisational requirements. 2. Act as the lead health and safety specialist for Telecoms projects, directing and supporting project teams to embed a strong safety culture and achieve high standards of performance. 3. Build effective relationships with contractors and delivery partners, leading regular safety forums to share best practice, lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives. 4. Support project teams in monitoring, inspecting and reviewing safety and environmental performance, ensuring a consistent and proactive approach to occupational health, construction safety and environmental management across the Telecoms portfolio. 5. Collaborate across the Telecoms function to identify, develop and implement practical solutions that drive improvements in health, safety and environmental performance. 6. Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and recommendations are implemented effectively to prevent recurrence. 7. Act as the primary point of contact for HMRI, regulatory bodies and other health and safety organisations, representing Telecoms projects on all day-to-day safety-related matters. 8. Work closely with the Route Services SHEQ team to ensure all Level 2 safety assurance activities are completed effectively, accurately recorded and aligned with company standards. 9. Lead the identification, assessment and management of safety risks across the Telecoms function and delivery projects, ensuring appropriate controls are in place to protect people, assets and operations.

• NEBOSH Construction certificate.
• NEBOSH Tech SP certificate.
• Significant experience in the successful management of HSEA issues on major programmes of work in the construction and//or rail industries.
• Project Safety Management course.
• Designated Competence Person (DCP) investigation experience and competency
• Lead Investigator competency
Desirable
• Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or educated to degree level.
• NEBOSH diploma, IEMA certificate.
• An experienced Health and Safety or Environment practitioner.
• Knowledge of Behavioural Change techniques.
• Knowledge of Network Rail's systems and processes.
• Working knowledge of rules, Regulations and standards applicable to contractor safety.
