The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor, supporting a portfolio of major construction projects across London, Berkshire and Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety professional looking to join an established contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects and maintaining excellent safety standards. You will work closely with an established Safety Director with over 20 years' experience in the construction industry, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge, gain valuable project exposure and progress your career within a supportive and experienced team.
The Role
As Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the business and project teams in maintaining the highest standards of health and safety across multiple sites. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing day-to-day Health & Safety advice and support to project teams.
- Conducting site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
- Monitoring compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
- Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of Health & Safety systems.
- Identifying potential hazards and providing practical solutions.
- Working closely with site management to promote a positive safety culture.
- Supporting incident investigations and the implementation of corrective actions.
- Assisting with Health & Safety reporting and documentation.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous Health & Safety experience within the construction industry.
- Relevant Health & Safety qualifications, such as NEBOSH or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of construction Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The confidence to work closely with site and senior management teams.
- A proactive and practical approach to Health & Safety.
- The flexibility and willingness to travel between sites in London, Berkshire and Somerset.
