Full Job Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Health and Safety Administrator to join the growing Health and Safety team. We are seeking an enthusiastic team member who can work independently and as part of a team. You will be friendly, proactive, and self-motivated. In addition, the successful candidate will possess excellent planning, organisation and communication skills. The role holder will work together with colleagues to provide administrative support and ensure day-to-day operational needs are met. As an Administrator you will:

  • Support the Health and Safety Advisors with administrative tasks
  • Support the Fire Safety Team with their programme of work
  • Receive and respond to internal and external queries, providing advice and resolving both simple and complex issues and queries
  • Support the coordination of the Health and Safety training programme, including booking of rooms, ordering catering and scheduling on the internal short courses' website
  • Monitoring budgets and raising purchases orders for the team.
  • Maintaining databases
  • Supporting with events and projects

    Extensive level of IT skills, including MS Office suite (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams)
  • Ability to build working relationships within the department, contacts around the University and external suppliers
  • Ability to work independently to resolve complex internal and external queries.
  • Provide and maintain a high level of customer service whilst working to deadlines.
  • Accuracy, reliability and the willingness and adaptability to learn new skills and procedures.
