Full Job Description

We are recruiting for a Health Records Clerk to be based in our Health Records Department in Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. For this role, previous experience is not required as on the job training will be provided. You will predominately begin your training in our Filing Library and then be exposed to other duties within the department, both on the Prince Philip Hospital and Dafen Industrial Estate sites., The post holder will cover a range of duties including;

  • Filing and retrieving of patient records, locating, and providing patient records for all outpatient appointments, planned admissions and day case attendances.
  • Operation of a computerised patients administration system, including inputting and retrieval of data.
  • Arranging patients' hospital appointments via the appointment centre and general phone duties.
  • Scanning of records for a number of departments.
  • A flexible approach to the needs of the service is required and to undertake additional duties as and when required. The ability to work effectively as part of a team is vital.

Two integrated care centres (Aberaeron and Cardigan, Ceredigion).Community facilities, including: 48 General Practices (GP surgeries), 49 Dental Practices, 98 Community Pharmacies (chemists), 44 General Ophthalmic Practices (including eye health and low vision services), 38 sites providing mental health and learning disability services, care within your own homes. Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
