Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a confident, creative and organised Health Information Officer has arisen at World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF).

World Cancer Research Fund champions the latest and most authoritative scientific research from around the world on cancer prevention and survival through diet, weight and physical activity, so that we can empower people to make informed lifestyle choices to reduce their cancer risk.

WCRF are seeking a skilled, enthusiastic and innovative Health Information Officer to develop, deliver and promote practical, engaging health information that helps people reduce their risk of cancer through healthy choices about diet, weight and physical activity, based on our Cancer Prevention Recommendations. You will translate complex scientific evidence into clear and accessible messages; produce and update print, website and digital content; commission and analyse recipes; adapt information for social media, campaigns and external partnerships; and support the development of our digital health programmes. Working with subject experts, target audiences and Communications colleagues, you will ensure our health information meets agreed quality standards and processes, reaches new and varied audiences, and is informed by insight, uptake and impact data.

The successful candidate will be a skilled writer and editor with experience developing evidence-based health information for the general public and the ability to turn complex content into clear, accessible communications. You will understand how to tailor information for different audiences and channels, manage competing priorities and deadlines, and work confidently with a variety of stakeholders. You will also bring an interest in cancer prevention, nutrition, physical activity, weight management, public health or health inequalities, alongside a proactive approach to learning, problem-solving and improving how information is developed and shared.

At WCRF, using AI to work smarter and deliver greater impact is part of everyone's role and candidates should be open to exploring new, and more efficient, ways of working through the use of AI., Please note we're not responsible for the content of job ads, as they're posted by the recruiter. We'll aim to resolve the reported issue and we'll use your feedback to improve the quality of our ads.

WCRF is a UK cancer prevention charity. We look at how diet, weight and physical activity affect the risk of developing and surviving cancer.
