Health Care Support Worker

Please download the accompanying JD/PS for a full list of duties To support the qualified staff in the admission and discharge procedure. To ensure the relevant policies in respect of patients property and valuables are maintained. To support staff in promoting recreation/leisure amongst patients. To contribute to the promotion of patients education and well-being. To monitor and encourage and record patients in their consumption of food and drink. Accompany appropriate patients of site as and when required. To assist in the maintenance of a safe environment. To participate in the observation of patients at risk. To promote and maintain beneficial relationships between relatives/patients and carers in liaison with other appropriate agencies. To participate in all projects and research schemes to improve the quality of the patients life. To be aware of and comply with Health & Safety, Fire Regulations and all other policies laid down by Black Country Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. To
attend mandatory courses/lectures/in-house training, as required. To develop skills and knowledge in the area of mental health care by undertaking mandatory NVQ Level II training. Infection prevention & control is everybodys responsibility, it is a requirement for all Trust staff to comply with all trust infection control policies and procedures. To undertake any other duties of a similar nature consistent with the responsibilities of this post in order to provide a quality service.
