Full Job Description
The post holder is required to carry out a range of assigned tasks involving direct and indirect care for the benefit of the patient, and will be supported and supervised by a Registered Nurse. The post holder will be expected to carry out a range of assigned clinical and organisational tasks with the highest standard to support and enable staff to provide patient care, which reflects the quality of the standards and mission of the Outpatients Department and the University Health Board. The post is of an evolving nature and the job description is based upon a flexible core competency framework that will enable the post holder to develop their role. This role is linked to minimum training requirements providing competency to practice. Professional guidance and support are also key elements to role effectiveness. The post holder is required to work towards the achievement of NVQ Level 3 Award or equivalent. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all policies and procedures are observed and meet the University Health Board requirements contained in the Health and Safety Policy. The post holder will be required to assist in the reception service of patients, visitors and staff to the Department. The post holder will have the opportunity to develop, through the annual personal review process, their own knowledge and skills to the benefit of the service. This role does not carry any managerial responsibility., Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
