Full Job Description
Our 28-bed Inpatient Unit provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care, as well as short-term symptom control admissions. As a Health Care Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients and their families during their time at Dougie Mac. Working within a 24/7 multi-disciplinary team, you will deliver high-quality holistic care, uphold patient dignity, and ensure comfort at all times. What You'll Be Doing
- Provide personal and physical care as directed by registered nurses
- Support patients and provide comfort to families
- Deliver care in line with individual care plans and maintain accurate records
- Maintain a compassionate and respectful care environment
- Report changes in patient condition and contribute to team discussions
- Adhere to hospice policies, confidentiality, and infection control guidelines
- Take part in training and continuous professional development

Essential: - Experience in a caring role
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility to work across day and night shifts
- Numeracy and literacy skills (GCSEs or equivalent - or willingness to work towards) Desirable:
- NVQ or QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care
- Experience supporting individuals with palliative care needs
- Confidence working in a clinical or hospice setting
