Our 28-bed Inpatient Unit provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care, as well as short-term symptom control admissions. As a Health Care Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients and their families during their time at Dougie Mac. Working within a 24/7 multi-disciplinary team, you will deliver high-quality holistic care, uphold patient dignity, and ensure comfort at all times. What You'll Be Doing

• Provide personal and physical care as directed by registered nurses
• Support patients and provide comfort to families
• Deliver care in line with individual care plans and maintain accurate records
• Maintain a compassionate and respectful care environment
• Report changes in patient condition and contribute to team discussions
• Adhere to hospice policies, confidentiality, and infection control guidelines
• Take part in training and continuous professional development

Essential:
• Experience in a caring role
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexibility to work across day and night shifts
• Numeracy and literacy skills (GCSEs or equivalent - or willingness to work towards)
Desirable:
• NVQ or QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care
• Experience supporting individuals with palliative care needs
• Confidence working in a clinical or hospice setting
