Health Care Assistant - Inpatient Unit

Woking & Sam Beare Hospice is looking for a Health Care Assistant to join our multi-disciplinary team, supporting the delivery of holistic, high-quality palliative and end of life care. Working under the direction of a registered nurse, you will provide practical, emotional and person-centred support to patients, helping to maintain their independence, privacy and dignity. This is a rewarding role for someone who is calm, caring, flexible and committed to delivering excellent standards of care., Please refer to the attached Job Description and Person Specification for more information regarding the main duties of the role., To work under the direction of a Registered Nurse both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver holistic, high quality care to palliative and end of life care patients, their carers and relatives in the Community and /or on our Inpatient Unit. To participate in a seven day per week operational service including days and nights. Full/part time applications considered.

• Knowledge of palliative care or relevant experience
• Knowledge of national, regional, and local policy in relation to quality standards, targets, and improvements initiatives, Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to motivate and inspire others.
• Ability to form and maintain professional working relationships.
• Calm, organised, flexible, approachable, enthusiastic, and punctual.
• Good working knowledge and application of the MS Office packages.
• Effective time management and organisation skills
• Able to manage difficult situations effectively.
• Demonstrates a flexible approach to pattens of working.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
• Ability to respond to changes in patient conditions
• Ability to prioritise a patients care needs, Experience of working in a palliative care setting
• Experience of working with patients with a life limiting illness and end of life care.
