An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Children and Young People's Eating Disorder Service for a Health Care Assistant. We are a multi-disciplinary team that provide assessment and treatment to children and young people with eating disorders across Warrington, Halton, Knowsley and St Helens., To provide support to children, young people and their families/carers when accessing the service.

To carry out physical health observations and liaise with a qualified clinician to help to assess risk to the child or young person, supporting with the care and treatment.

To liaise with both internal and external professionals to arrange appointments and share information in a confidential manner to best support the young person and their family/carers specific to their needs.

To support in the delivery of treatment and interventions within the service.

To maintain accurate, timely and professional records to ensure patient safety.

To work as part of a team to support the other clinical and psychological staff within the team.

The successful candidate should be caring, compassionate and enthusiastic to learning. There will be an expectation of working independently and as well as part of a team. Good communication skills are essential, part of the role will include liaising with other professionals both internally and externally. Good IT skills are also essential, as the successful candidate will take a lead on co-ordinating online groups as well as inputting and monitoring data on electronic patient records.

Physical health observations are a key task within this role and although training will be provided, experience of this is desirable.

As the team works across four geographical areas, the successful candidate should be prepared to travel between places to provide care and support to the families and young people that we support.
