Higher Level Teaching Assistant Vacancy (Forest School)

Required for June 2026

Start date: Monday 1st June 2026 (or sooner if chosen candidate has availability to start)

Salary: Level 4, Grade 7 (SCP 12-17), £14.82-£16.08 per hour - Weeks worked 43.6

Contract: 15 hours per week

Term time only

Fixed term contract until 31/08/2027, working pattern: weekdays, 12.45-3.45pm

We wish to appoint a HLTA with the experience and enthusiasm to lead our Forest School provision across KS1 and KS2, working alongside our Forest School lead who delivers EYFS sessions. Our candidate will be a dedicated and caring practitioner, who is eager to provide a rich, engaging, creative Forest School experience for the children within our school. The role will be varied and interesting, working as part of our dedicated team to provide excellent learning opportunities and experiences for all children.

Desirable personal qualities are:

  • warm, engaging manner with pupils of all ages
  • creative approach to offer hands on experiences
  • passion and genuine love of outdoor learning
  • initiative and flexibility to adapt to learners needs and interests
  • genuine desire for every child to experience high quality provision and to achieve their full potential

The post will require the successful applicant to be self-motivated, have good communication and organisational skills, confidently planning and leading sessions to class groups with the support of our excellent team of support staff. We would be eager to interview committed candidates who have prior experience of working with primary aged children and previous experience leading Forest School (L3 qualification).
