Job Title: Head of Year Location: Nottingham Salary: Actual Salary £39,038 - £43,168 per annum (Grade H NJC 30-34) Start Date: September 2025 or as soon as possible Contract Type: Permanent Working Pattern: 42.5 hours per week 8am - 5pm, 39 weeks per year About Our School: The Ellis Guilford School is a growing and thriving, larger than average, Secondary School with a clear mission 'to ensure that the children attending our school have a better chance of success than if they attended any other school.' About the role: The Head of Year role is to deliver exceptional pastoral care that empowers our students to achieve their full potential. We aim to intervene promptly to ensure students receive the necessary support for their success. Additionally, we focus on guiding students through a positive reintegration process after suspensions, aiming to minimize repeat suspensions. About you: You must be able to work constructively under pressure and have excellent communication and organisation skills, with a proactive attitude. You will have a proven ability to deliver key messages effectively to students' staff and parents, be resilient and have a "can do", "will do" work ethic. You should:
- Have skills in developing and implementing behaviour management and praise strategies to substantially impact both the attitudes to learning and the outcomes for vulnerable students.
- Have the ability to develop a philosophy of high aspirations and expectations for every student giving cognisance to SEND, equal opportunities, diversity, ethos and student Requirements: To apply for the Head of Year vacancy, you must:
