Full Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Head of Year to join our pastoral team. This is a key leadership role, combining high-quality teaching (in Chemistry, English or Maths) with responsibility for the academic progress, behaviour, welfare and attendance of a full year group. The successful candidate will lead a team of tutors, drive high standards across their cohort, deliver proactive interventions and work closely with colleagues, parents and external agencies to ensure that every student is safe, supported and able to thrive.,

  • Lead the pastoral vision, culture and standards for a designated year group.
  • Oversee student behaviour, wellbeing, attendance and academic progress.
  • Line-manage and support a team of form tutors, ensuring consistency and high expectations.
  • Develop and implement impactful interventions for individual students and groups.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers and external agencies.
  • Teach a timetable within Chemistry, English or Maths, demonstrating high-quality classroom practice and exceptional subject knowledge.
