Working closely with the Head, Senior Deputy, Head of Lower School and Director of Academic Studies, the Head of Upper School will combine strategic leadership with a highly visible presence in the ev, Glendower Preparatory School is seeking an inspirational, ambitious and forward-thinking Head of Upper School and Designated Safeguarding Lead to lead the Prep section, from Year 3 through to the end of Year 6, and provide whole-school safeguarding leadership. This is an exciting new SLT role, offering the successful candidate significant scope to shape and develop Upper School provision at one of London's leading girls' preparatory schools.

Working closely with the Head, Senior Deputy, Head of Lower School and Director of Academic Studies, the Head of Upper School will combine strategic leadership with a highly visible presence in the everyday life of the school. They will champion an education that brings together intellectual ambition, curiosity and high expectations with exceptional pastoral care, helping every girl develop the confidence, independence and sense of self needed to flourish at Glendower and beyond.

The Head of Lower School and Head of Upper School will provide complementary leadership of the two main phases of the school, ensuring that every girl experiences one coherent Glendower journey while receiving provision that is right for her age and stage.

As Designated Safeguarding Lead, the postholder will take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the whole school, from Nursery to Year 6. They will be supported by the wider safeguarding team, including trained Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads, who will contribute to casework, advice, monitoring and cover. The postholder will lead this team with clarity and care, ensuring that safeguarding is understood as everyone's responsibility and embedded in daily practice.
