Join the Close Brothers Credit Risk Team where you will underwrite transactions arising within personal delegated credit authority and make recommendations on facilities to higher approval authorities, including Group Credit Committee, to agreed SLAs. Working as part of the Credit Risk team our ideal team member will have significant credit approval experience in a financial or insurance institution enabling the role holder to underwrite transactions in line with credit risk appetite and policy with excellent analytical, written and presentational skills. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the provision of an effective underwriting service of customer facilities, broker facilities and insurer contingent liability risks arising in Premium Finance with a strong focus on quality and speed of service which meets Business and Broker needs whilst maintaining credit risk standards
- Develop a strong understanding of Premium Finance's business model leading stakeholder engagement and providing dedicated SME advice and guidance on all credit risk matters to the business
- Lead the Premium Finance Credit Team providing an environment which has an effective structure providing a robust learning and development environment for credit underwriters ensuring high standards in credit papers are achieved
- Contributes to Premium Finance Executive Committee and Credit Risk leadership team, as required, providing periodic updates on Credit portfolio quality and other risk matters arising
- Lead engagement and delivery of credit risk projects, ensuring effective engagement with Business and group functions
- Own and manage the Premium credit risk policies and standards including ongoing communication to the Business and Credit teams Developing Our People: as a line manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team, as well as developing performance through coaching. You will encourage your team to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.
- Significant experience within a financial services environment of Commercial and SME customers with a proven track record of credit approval and management.
- Experience in the insurance sector
- Good knowledge of banking and insurance products and services.
- A proven track record in leading teams.
- Sound appreciation of security, legal and documentation risks associated with transactions.
- An ability to engage with internal and external customers and build good working relationships. IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:
- Knowledge of Premium Finance products and services
