Full Job Description
Royal Mail is looking for a commercially driven Trading Manager to lead the performance of three of our most important digital channels: Shop, Pay a Fee and Redirections. Together, these channels represent a £95m digital revenue portfolio serving millions of customers every year. This is a high-impact role for an experienced digital trading or ecommerce professional who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on, data-led approach to growing revenue, improving customer journeys and delivering measurable commercial outcomes. About the Role As Trading Manager, you will own the commercial performance of Royal Mail Shop, Pay a Fee and Redirections, driving revenue growth, improving conversion and digital completion rates, and ensuring customers enjoy seamless online experiences. Working closely with Product, Technology, Analytics, Marketing, Finance and Legal teams, you'll translate commercial priorities into actionable roadmaps and ensure improvements are delivered at pace. You'll have significant influence across the business and play a key role in shaping the future direction of Royal Mail's digital revenue channels. Key Responsibilities
- Own the commercial performance and P&L of a £95m digital revenue portfolio, driving growth across Shop, Pay a Fee and Redirections.
- Use analytics, customer insight and behavioural data to identify opportunities to improve conversion, reduce drop-off and increase customer completion rates.
- Develop and deliver trading, promotional and growth plans that drive revenue while maintaining great customer experiences.
- Partner with Product and Technology teams to prioritise and deliver digital improvements that support commercial objectives.
- Work with Marketing teams to maximise channel visibility and ensure acquisition investment is focused on the highest-value opportunities.
- Provide clear commercial reporting and performance insight to senior stakeholders, helping guide strategic decision-making.
You are an experienced digital trading or ecommerce professional who enjoys balancing commercial performance with customer experience. You are comfortable analysing large volumes of data, identifying opportunities for growth and influencing stakeholders across multiple functions. You thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy solving complex problems and are passionate about using insight, optimisation and experimentation to drive continuous improvement. What You'll Bring - Experience in digital trading, ecommerce commercial management or a similar role with responsibility for revenue growth and channel performance.
- Strong analytical skills and hands-on experience using tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Amplitude or similar platforms.
- Experience improving digital conversion, customer journeys and online commercial performance.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to manage pricing, performance targets and P&L-related discussions.
- Experience working closely with Product and Technology teams to translate commercial priorities into delivery roadmaps.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in agile environments and using experimentation and optimisation techniques to improve outcomes.
This role sits at the heart of Royal Mail's digital growth strategy, with responsibility for a revenue portfolio worth £95m and a clear ambition to drive significant future growth. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders and play a key role in shaping the commercial performance of some of Royal Mail's most important customer-facing digital services.
