Head of Technical

As our Head of Technical, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our homes are safe, compliant, buildable and ready for successful delivery. Leading regional technical, engineering and design teams, you'll influence developments from early feasibility through to handover, helping us deliver thousands of high-quality affordable homes and creating communities where people can thrive. This is an opportunity to lead at scale, driving technical excellence, managing complex challenges and ensuring we continue to deliver homes that make a lasting difference to our customers. What you'll be doing You'll lead the region's technical function, providing the expertise, governance and assurance needed to deliver high-quality homes safely and successfully. Key areas of focus include:

• Leading and developing regional technical and engineering teams
• Acting as the region's engineering and design authority across multiple developments
• Driving design governance, quality standards and engineering assurance
• Managing due diligence, feasibility assessments and engineering risk
• Securing statutory approvals and maintaining compliance
• Ensuring designs are coordinated, practical and construction-ready
• Working collaboratively with Construction, Commercial and Operations teams to support successful delivery
• Embedding a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence
  
  We're looking for an experienced technical leader who can combine engineering expertise with strategic thinking, sound judgement and collaborative leadership.
You'll bring:
• Senior leadership experience within residential development, construction or infrastructure
• A strong background in engineering-led housing delivery
• Experience managing complex infrastructure, development or ground-risk challenges
• Experience leading and developing technical or engineering teams
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
• A degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline
Professional membership and chartered status are advantageous but not essential.
