Full Job Description
The role of "Head of Service" is an important leadership position and will contribute to the design and implementation of college strategy. The postholder will work closely with the Executive Team of the college to provide professional support ensuring college-wide high-quality performance, student satisfaction and financial sustainability. The role will involve the use of statistical data (relevant to the service), monitoring and evaluating activity and impact of the service, making strategic recommendations for change. 2. Principle Accountabilities
- Lead change and innovation within your service area to ensure it remains highly effective in providing excellence in service to students whilst maintaining value for money.
- Provide effective and visible corporate leadership, demonstrating the core Darlington College values.
- Present to Executive Board, CMG and Governor Meetings of the college a range of regular reports about all aspects of the service, involving analysis, interpretation and use of data to problem solve, employing a solution focused approach to enable accountability and scrutiny of all aspects of performance of the service.
- Set appropriate performance targets, key objectives and establish standards of performance for the service ensuring these are regularly monitored and reviewed and that corrective action is taken when necessary.
- To ensure the college remains compliant with legislation and regulations relevant to the scope of responsibilities within the role and to provide executive and governors with updates and information of any changes, amendments or new requirements in a timely manner.
- To contribute in creating a positive, inclusive and supportive working environment that enables all members of the College community to work to the best of their ability and make a positive contribution to the organisation and the student we serve.
