Full Job Description
Our strategy, Change Happens Now, sets out how we'll work towards our vision that by 2050, everyone with breast cancer will live and live well. As our Head of Strategy, Planning and Innovation, you'll play a central part in turning that strategy into action.
Reporting to our Director of Impact, Strategy and Innovation, you'll build and lead our Strategy, Planning and Innovation team. You'll hold, design and steward our portfolio of cross-cutting strategic programmes, bring discipline to organisational business planning, and build project management capability across the charity. You'll also help create a culture of innovation, supporting teams to generate, test and scale new ideas that respond to the changing needs of people affected by breast cancer.
Leading 2 Strategic Programme Leads and a Project Manager, you'll work closely with our Senior Leadership Team and Board of trustees. You'll support major strategic partnerships, and you'll lead the thinking and preparation for the next update to our strategy, turning evidence, learning and horizon scanning into clear choices about our future direction., Please note we're not responsible for the content of job ads, as they're posted by the recruiter. We'll aim to resolve the reported issue and we'll use your feedback to improve the quality of our ads.
You'll have led the development or refresh of an organisational strategy, or a strategy of comparable scope and complexity. You'll also have a track record of leading cross-cutting strategic programmes or organisational change from design through to delivery, and of running or overseeing a business planning cycle in a complex, multi-team organisation.
You're an experienced leader who builds high-performing, inclusive teams, and you're confident influencing at a senior level, including with leadership teams and boards. With strong portfolio management skills, you can sequence complex work and manage risks, dependencies and budgets to keep multi-year programmes on track.
You think beyond the current planning cycle and can turn long-term thinking into clear choices and practical plans. You're comfortable working with ambiguity, and you bring the energy to drive new ideas forward without losing rigour.
Experience in a health, charity or other mission-led setting would be an advantage but isn't essential.
