Head of School - Deck Officer Certification

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join South Shields Marine School as Head of School - Deck Officer Certification, providing leadership across our Deck Officer curriculum and helping to drive the continued growth and success of the School. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced maritime professional and educational leader who is passionate about developing high-quality learning opportunities and ensuring outstanding outcomes for students preparing for careers at sea. About the Role Reporting directly to the Principal of South Shields Marine School, you will lead the development, delivery and continuous improvement of the School's Deck Officer Certification provision. You will be responsible for ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement while maintaining compliance with awarding, validating and regulatory body requirements.

• Significant and recent experience within maritime education, nautical training or the marine sector.
• Experience of leading or delivering Deck Officer, Nautical Science, Officer of the Watch, Chief Mate, Master or equivalent programmes.
• Knowledge of maritime regulatory, quality assurance and compliance requirements.
