About this Role
Greenwich Waldorf School is located alongside the green spaces of Greenwich and Blackheath in South East London. We are an independent school with a dynamic, progressive and contemporary Waldorf curriculum for pupils aged 3-18.
Learning is experienced, explored and savoured to create a joyful education and a lifelong love of learning. Intellectual curiosity, confidence and compassion along with critical thinking and a passion for life characterise our pupils.
Greenwich Waldorf School is entering an exciting new phase of growth and development. As our school community evolves, we are seeking talented, enthusiastic and like-minded individuals to join our warm, creative and collaborative team.
The Head of School provides strategic and organisational leadership, whole-school accountability and executive oversight for Greenwich Waldorf School. The role provides the strategic leadership and executive oversight required to ensure the school is well led, well governed, operationally secure and outward facing, while enabling the Deputy Head (Head of Education) to hold full leadership responsibility for curriculum and pedagogy, and the Deputy Head (Head of Operations) to hold full leadership responsibility for operations and systems.
The Head of School works in partnership with the College of Teachers as a key pedagogical body within the school, while maintaining executive oversight rather than curriculum ownership.
The Head of School safeguards the school's mission, supports staff, represents the school externally and ensures that clear lines of accountability are maintained across the organisation.
The postholder is expected to uphold and actively contribute to the ethos, values and collaborative life of a Waldorf school.
We encourage visits to our school if you have not visited before. Come and see our pupils learning and meet our friendly staff.
We welcome early applications and reserve the right to secure a successful candidate before the closing date.
