Join Our Senior Nursing Leadership Team Are you a dynamic, innovative and highly experienced safeguarding professional looking for an opportunity to make a lasting impact across an ambitious and patient-focused organisation? We are seeking an exceptional Head of Safeguarding and Vulnerabilities to join our senior nursing leadership team. This is a pivotal role for a dedicated and influential leader who is passionate about safeguarding, patient safety and improving outcomes for some of our most vulnerable patients. Reporting directly to the Chief Nurse (Director of Safeguarding and Vulnerabilities), you will provide strategic leadership, expert professional advice and organisational assurance across the Trust's safeguarding and vulnerability agenda. You will be a credible visible leader, trusted advisor and champion for safeguarding excellence, ensuring we meet our statutory responsibilities while driving continuous improvement across all services., As the Trust's senior professional safeguarding adviser, you will lead and develop a comprehensive safeguarding and vulnerabilities portfolio, including:

  • Safeguarding Children and Adults
  • Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
  • Dementia Care
  • Learning Disability and Autism
  • Transition Services
  • Domestic Abuse
  • Modern Slavery
  • PREVENT
  • Persons in Positions of Trust (PiPoT)
  • Public Protection and Vulnerability Programmes
  • You will provide strategic oversight of safeguarding governance, ensuring robust systems are in place to identify, monitor, escalate and learn from safeguarding concerns, incidents and statutory reviews. Working closely with executive colleagues, clinical leaders and system partners, you will ensure safeguarding remains embedded in every aspect of patient care and organisational decision-making. Leading a highly respected Safeguarding and Vulnerabilities Team, you will foster a culture of professional curiosity, learning, compassion and accountability. You will provide expert guidance on complex safeguarding issues and ensure high-quality safeguarding supervision, education, quality assurance and support arrangements are in place across the Trust.
