Blatchington Mill School is a vibrant and inclusive secondary school located in Brighton and Hove, committed to providing high-quality education and fostering a supportive learning environment for all students. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Head of Religious Education (RE) to lead on RE.

Position: Head of Religious Education
Department: Humanties
Education Stage: Secondary (Key Stage 4)
Experience: Experience of effective leadership or student behaviour for learning

Role Overview:
As Head of RE, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of the Key Stage 3 & 4 RE curriculum. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to take on leadership responsibilities within a supportive team while shaping students' understanding of religion, ethics, and philosophy.

Skills and Qualifications:
- A strong interest in Religious Education with knowledge and experience of teaching R.E.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire students.
- Organisational skills to manage curriculum planning and departmental duties effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments.
- Willingness to learn, develop professionally, and embrace new teaching methods.

- Commitment to promoting respect, tolerance, and understanding among diverse student groups.
- Enthusiasm for creating an inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued.
- A positive attitude towards challenges with resilience and adaptability in a dynamic school setting.
