From September 2026, Queen Elizabeth's School, Wakefield will bring together the proud histories and achievements of Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield Girls' High School and Wakefield Grammar Pre-Preparatory School to create a single 3-18 co-educational school. Building on the distinguished legacy of the Wakefield Grammar School Foundation, Queen Elizabeth's combines academic excellence with exceptional opportunities for personal development, co-curricular engagement and service to the wider community.

The Board is now seeking an exceptional leader to become the first Head recruited specifically for Queen Elizabeth's School, Wakefield. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership across the School, building on strong foundations to deliver educational excellence, foster a high-performing and inclusive culture, and ensure the School's long-term sustainability and success.
The successful candidate will be an accomplished educational leader with significant senior leadership experience and a strong track record of leading improvement, managing change and inspiring others. They will be a highly effective communicator with the presence, warmth and emotional intelligence to build strong relationships across the School community.
