Head of Professional Standards

We are now seeking to appoint a Head of Professional Standards to help us navigate through the next phase of our growth. This role will evolve and proactively maintain the professional standards and compliance framework, anticipating the current and future needs of our unique business model while ensuring we continue to operate consistently and in line with regulatory requirements. This is a senior role within rradar, strengthening governance, operational discipline and regulatory compliance across the legal services business, reporting directly to the Director of Legal Services and leading the Professional Standards team. Day to day the team is responsible for:

• Policy and guidance development
• Audit frameworks and controls
• Training and education (with L&D)
• Complaints handling
• Contractual reporting
• Regulatory responsibilities (SRA, breach reporting, PC renewals, PI claims)
• Operational risk management, including the Risk Register
This is a hands-on role, but as rradar continues to grow and evolve, the role will evolve from supporting operational activity to setting direction, monitoring standards and ensuring the right controls are in place. Therefore, the ideal candidate will be resilient, pragmatic and able to balance commerciality with compliance. They must be comfortable thinking creatively and operating "outside the box," particularly when navigating the expectations of regulators and varied regulatory environments.,
• Set strategic direction for professional standards and compliance anticipating emerging regulatory requirements and with awareness of the multi-regulatory operating environment across the Group.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures and guidance
• Lead compliance monitoring, file audits and reporting
• Strengthen risk culture, controls and regulatory adherence
• Own the Risk Register and risk management processes
• Oversee conflicts of interest and complaints handling
• Lead and develop the Professional Standards team

• Senior experience in legal, regulatory, compliance or professional standards roles
• Strong understanding of legal services or claims handling
• Experience designing compliance frameworks and/or audit programmes
