Full Job Description
We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate Head of Performing Arts (Drama Specialist) to join our highly committed and professional team at our Junior, Senior and Sixth Form School. The Head of Performing Arts (HPA) is responsible for leading the development and delivery of the Performing Arts curriculum, including Drama, Music and Dance. This role involves teaching, managing a team of staff, organising school performances, and enhancing our students' experiences overall. They will foster a vibrant, inclusive, and creative environment that inspires students to engage while ensuring the department contributes to the school's broader educational objectives. This is a full time post required from September 2026. Please apply as soon as possible. The successful candidate will:
- ·Be a qualified teacher who can teach examination classes as required.
- Proven track record of being an exceptional teacher and performer with experience in making a positive impact on student performance at all levels.
- Proven track record of leading staff, with excellent engagement, teamwork and outcomes.
- A deep knowledge of the subject area and curriculum.
- Ability to analyse and evaluate student data to plan department-wide interventions.
- Keep up to date with research and developments in pedagogy.
- Ability to take personal responsibility, a readiness to reflect and self-evaluate, and the ability to change, improve and develop.
- A willingness to be involved in extended curriculum opportunities in the subject area. Above all, you must want the best for our pupils and put their needs first.
