Full Job Description
This role would suit an ambitious Maths specialist ready to take their next step into leadership or an experienced middle leader seeking a new challenge in a supportive and ambitious school. You will be supported by an experienced Senior Leadership Team and work closely with colleagues across Future Schools Trust, including strong links with neighbouring secondary schools, benefiting from collaborative professional development, shared expertise and opportunities to shape excellent practice beyond your own classroom. As Head of Maths, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership to drive high standards of teaching, learning and achievement across the department.
- Shape and refine a rich, engaging and ambitious Maths curriculum that empowers every student to reach their full potential.
- Lead, motivate and develop an enthusiastic team of teachers, fostering a culture of collaboration, professional growth and shared success.
- Use assessment intelligently to secure strong outcomes and ensure all students, including disadvantaged and vulnerable learners, make exceptional progress.
- Champion numeracy and a love of learning across the Academy, ensuring that every young person's potential is recognised and nurtured. At New Line Learning Academy, we are proud to provide a warm, supportive and ambitious environment where both students and staff are empowered to thrive. Our ethos is simple and lived every day: Believe and Achieve. We champion academic excellence while nurturing individuality, creativity and personal ambition, ensuring every young person, and every colleague, feels valued, inspired and capable of success. As an all-ability school at the heart of our community, we foster a strong sense of belonging and inclusivity. Wellbeing sits at the centre of everything we do. Our caring and respectful culture enables students to flourish as confident, kind and well-rounded individuals who are ready to learn and contribute positively to the world around them. Our Creative Curriculum has been carefully designed in direct response to the needs of our students and community, with creativity seen not only as artistic expression, but as a way of thinking, problem-solving and engaging with the world. Students benefit from a rich and broad Key Stage 3 experience that extends beyond the National Curriculum, embracing art and design technologies, computing, performing arts and sport alongside strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, wellbeing and resilience. At Key Stage 4, our personalised pathways - Ambition, Excellence and Aspire - ensure that every learner is supported, challenged and guided towards a future that reflects their strengths, interests and aspirations. Our modern and inspirational facilities, including specialist spaces for drama, music, dance, sport, science and ICT, enable us to deliver engaging and innovative learning experiences that stretch curious minds and encourage students to step beyond their comfort zones. We are proud of a culture where creativity is celebrated, diversity is embraced and every voice matters. New Line Learning Academy is also part of Future Schools Trust; a collaborative and forward-thinking family of schools committed to professional growth and shared success. Colleagues benefit from high-quality professional development, cross-trust opportunities and a supportive environment that prioritises teamwork, wellbeing and continuous improvement. Whether you are seeking your first leadership role or your next career step, you will find a welcoming and ambitious community where your contribution is genuinely valued. If you are passionate about making a difference and want to work in a school where students and staff alike are encouraged to believe, achieve and excel, we would be delighted to hear from you.
